Peru approximately 26 million inhabitants and an area of1,285,216 square kilometers Peru contains some of the most varied greography in South America ,consisting in three distinct region . The try coastal desert the Andean highlands and the amazons bazin .  The capital city is LIMA ,located 12º south of the  equator on he pacific coast . The time zone in the whole country coincides with Eastern Standard time in the U. S. and is five hours behind GMT .  Peru has two official languajes  spanish and quechua , english is spoken by some people ,mostly in the major tourist areas

Visiting Mountains :

 There are several ways to visit the mountains .if you really like backpacking , you can just head up to the mountains with a map. Another way is to hire a guide or to have everything organized through a travel agency, for big expeditions we recommend using specialist in this type of logistic.

Cordillera Blanca :

Extending almost 180 kms. from nort to south and largely included within the Huascaran National Park . The Cordillera Blanca has a total 663 glaciers 29 of them at 6,000meters or higher and includes Huascaran 6,768m. the highest peak in the Peruvian Andes ,and Alpamayo ,concidered by many to be the  most beautifulmountain in the world . It is 269 lakes and 41 rivers.

Cordillera Huayhuash:

located 111 km south of Huaraz this little known route is one of the most beautiful and impressive . the trek take  approximately 2 weeks and winds through such spectacular mountains as yerupaja at 6,634m. the second highest in the peruvian andes ,jirishanca ,rondoy , ninashanca, rasac and siula grande made famous by the film touching the void . this trail passes incomparably breath - taking lakes of crystalline water and tiny villages .
